Preventive Sealants and Fluoride Application

Preventive Sealants and Fluoride Application at Neosmiles

Treatment Description

These are smart prevention tools. Sealants are invisible protective coatings applied to the pits and fissures of the molars to prevent food debris and bacteria from causing cavities. Fluoride is a protective varnish that strengthens tooth enamel against daily acid attacks.

When and Why Is It Necessary?

Sealants are ideal when the first permanent molars erupt (around age six), while fluoride application is recommended periodically based on a personalised assessment. Both are essential for drastically reducing the need for invasive treatments in the future.

What is the Recovery Like?

Quick and easy. We simply suggest that the child wait about thirty minutes before eating or drinking hot beverages to ensure the protective layer adheres properly to the enamel.
